Nobody is out
within reach of hope.

Spiritual help for prisoners, convicts, and their families. Through prayer, we connect people behind prison walls with those who have not forgotten them.

Who we are

A prayer that even goes through walls

Dismas is a Catholic community that brings spiritual closeness to people serving prison sentences. We help prisoners rediscover their dignity, forgiveness, and a path to a new beginning.
Every day more than 5,200 people prays for specific prisoners and convicts. Slovakia is one of the countries where we want to strengthen this network of hope.

Despite everything, I saw you once, but I feel like we are together every day. You called me a friend, I really appreciate it.

Prison management

Dear Mr. Magistr,
Today I spoke in person with the director of the Karviná Prison and strongly recommended the implementation of your project. From my personal experience at the Břeclav Prison, I must state that you left a very good impression not only on the inmates, but also on the staff present. Within the process of resocialization, I perceive your participation as effective and significantly beneficial. Likewise, the performers' approach to the issue of serving prison sentences, the manner of communication with the audience, and your personal dedication are perceived by me very positively. A big thank you is owed to the director and his staff from the Břeclav Prison for the refreshments provided, nevertheless, for the performance you delivered, it is the least the Prison Service could provide.

Unbelieving convict

I must confess that I was very surprised at how extensive your Christian activities are, and hats off to everything you do for your fellow believers. I also have to admire your dedication and commitment. I don't understand where you get the time and energy for it.

Sympathizer with Christian brothers.

Here you are

Dismas Community

3 branches of love

The Dismas Community brings hope behind prison walls through three pillars – personal correspondence, regular shipments of spiritual content, and personal visits of convicts. Each of these activities helps build a relationship, strengthen faith, and show the path to a new beginning.
